Let’s Spill The Taboo

OCD Taboo Intrusions Masterclass

Chrissie Hodges & Tracie Ibrahim are teaming up to bring you quarterly classes on navigating OCD as it present with taboo intrusions. While therapeutically taboo themes are treated the same as any other theme, individuals often have unique struggles related to the content. Tracie & Chrissie will use their lived experience and their combined years of experience supporting and treating individuals with taboo intrusions to address the topics that don’t often have light shed on them.

Our workshops will be interactive with psycho-education, tips, tools, a live Q&A, and a bonus chat with Chrissie & Tracie after each class.

Whether you attend in person, or buy the Masterclass after it’s completion, this is your opportunity to feel less alone and know that what you go through is common and normal with OCD despite these scary themes!

Shame Reduction ✳︎ Connection ✳︎ Support ✳︎ Tips & Tools ✳︎ Empathy ✳︎

One thing we are absolutely certain of with taboo intrusions is how prevalent and debilitating shame and guilt can be when accompanying intrusions. In fact, research in the last few years has confirmed that shame may be a barrier to effective treatment, and it points to taboo themes as being the main intrusions creating those barriers. So how do we navigate these emotions when they are so big and overwhelming that it's actually creating an obstacle?

Chrissie Hodges & Tracie Ibrahim are both trained and practice with a trauma informed lens to supporting individuals and treating OCD. Trauma informed care promotes empathy, security, mutuality, and emphasizes walking alongside and meeting individuals where they are at in their experience. Because both Chrissie & Tracie have lived experience with OCD, they have insight into what it is like to experience emotions so deeply in response to OCD that taking that next step toward treatment seemed impossible. They will bring that experience, their professional knowledge, and a person-centered approach to walking through what it's like to tackle the shame and guilt that accompanies taboo intrusions and walk away with a practical strategy to move forward in releasing them.

We Will Explore These Common Obstacles Encountered with Taboo Intrusions:

Accessing Self-Compassion When We Feel Like We Don't Deserve It.
Discovering Our Values When OCD Tells Us We've Lost Them.
How Do We Even Begin to Course-Correcting Our Shame & Guilt?
How Could Anyone Love or Accept Me If They Knew I Was Capable of These Thoughts?

What You Will Walk Away With After This Masterclass:

A Plan for Implementing Daily Self-Compassion Exercises - Even If You Don't Believe You Deserve It!
Understanding Your Values & How to Reconnect to Them & Use Them as Motivation in Recovery
A Blueprint in Recognizing How Shame & Guilt Feel, and How to Take Steps to Work Through Them
How to Implement Self-Acceptance & Self-Love in the Face of Living with Taboo Intrusions

Our Taboo Intrusion Masterclasses will give attendees the opportunity break down the stigma in the silence they feel like they've had to live in, connect with other individuals who understand and get it, and provide time for Q&A with both Tracie and Chrissie. We cannot wait to share the knowledge we have both accumulated from our lived experiences and from learning from our professional experiences with you. Both of us are passionate believers that the way that shame grows and thrives is to keep our experiences hidden - and so we plan to use these classes as an opportunity for us all to shine light on the experiences in a safe & secure environment where the shame has no choice but to leave the room!

Can't attend the Masterclass on the scheduled date?
No problem! This class will be recorded and will be available for purchase when you need it! If you attend the class, you will still have access to the class afterward, and receive the bonus material.
Bonus material! In the recording, Tracie & Chrissie will add their commentary after the class on the things they learned, their lived experience, and how trauma informed care makes such a difference when it comes to working with taboo intrusions.
